MIDBANK / THEMBALETHU MADE A CLEAN SWEEP AT THE ANNUAL NATIONAL DRIVER OF THE YEAR COMPETITION
The Driver of the Year (DoTY) competition is one of Road Safety’s programmes which is aimed at enhancing safe driving skills from drivers of heavy motor vehicles. The competition starts at the Regional level, Provincial level up to National level and even International level.
The 2009/10 National Driver of the Year Competition was held between 16 - 17 February 2010 at Boekenhoutskloof in Pretoria. The competition covered the following areas:
- National male bus driver
- National female bus driver
- National rigid truck driver
- National articulated truck driver
All nine provinces participated in all four categories of the competition.
We are today proud to announce that from the nine provinces both our Midbank drivers took top positions.
- Mr. Job Nene obtained the first position in the male bus driver category.
- Miss Bettie Shabangu obtained the first position in the female bus driver category.
Both drivers have obtained their National colors and they will be representing South Africa in the International Competition in Austria during September 2010.
The Midbank Group is proud of all our drivers but specifically the two mentioned above. Our commitment to excellence through training have bare the necessary fruit.
